Guide
What to put on your community organisation website
The pages and details that visitors look for first, in the order that helps most.
Start with the basics people search for
Most visitors want four things: where you are, when you are open, how to contact someone, and what is on this week. Put these on the home page, not three clicks deep.
Add your full address and a map link, your regular opening or session times, and one clear email address or contact form.
Keep one page for events and one for news
An events page that is kept current is worth more than a long page that is out of date. If you cannot update it weekly, show fewer items and remove old ones.
Say who you are
A short about page with your purpose, your committee and your charity details builds trust, especially with people giving or applying for something.
Make giving and getting involved easy
If you take donations or volunteers, link to it from the home page and from the top menu. Explain where the money goes in one or two plain sentences.
