A privacy checklist for small organisation websites
The basics to cover when your site collects names, emails or donations.
Know what you collect
List every form on your site and what it gathers. A contact form collects a name and an email address at least. Only ask for what you need.
Publish a privacy notice
Say what you collect, why, how long you keep it and who to ask about it. Keep it in plain English and link it from the footer.
Be careful with images of people
Get clear consent before you publish photographs of identifiable people, and take special care with children. When in doubt, leave it out.
