How to write an About page for your organisation
A short, honest page that tells visitors who you are and how to reach you.
Start with what you do and who it is for
Open with two plain sentences: what your organisation does, and who is welcome. Visitors decide in seconds whether the site is for them.
Say who runs it
Name the committee or trustees if they are happy to be named, and say how decisions are made. People trust organisations that are open about who is responsible.
Give clear ways to get in touch
Put an address, a contact form or email, and opening or prayer times in one place. Check these details every few months.
Only claim what is true
Do not describe your organisation as registered, accredited or affiliated unless you can show it. A short true page is better than a long one that overstates.
