How to make your organisation website work well on a phone
Most visitors arrive on a phone, so check the basics there first.
Check it on a real phone
Open your site on your own phone, then on an older one if you can. Look for text that is too small, buttons too close together and pages that scroll sideways.
Put the key answers at the top
Prayer times, address and how to get in touch should be visible without scrolling far. Phone visitors are usually looking for one thing.
Keep text short and readable
Use short paragraphs and a clear heading for each topic. Long blocks of text are hard to read on a small screen.
Make buttons and links easy to tap
Give links space around them so a thumb can hit the right one. Phone numbers and addresses should open the dialler or maps when tapped.
Keep images light
Large photos slow the page on mobile data. Resize images before uploading and add a short description to each one for people using screen readers.
